New FREE repair cafe coming to Bransholme

New Weekly Repair Café & PAT Testing Hub – Starts Thursday 5th Feb!

We’re excited to announce a new Repair Café and PAT Testing Hub funded by the Electrical Safety Fund at our Community Centre in Bransholme, launching Thursday 5th February and running every week for 26 weeks, 10am–12pm.

Residents can bring small household electrical items for free repair by skilled volunteers and technicians. Alongside repairs, we’ll offer free Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure appliances are safe to use, helping prevent accidents caused by faulty or recalled items.

This initiative is working in partnership with Refurbit – a fantastic local charity, dedicated to giving IT equipment a second life – Refurbit – Giving Tech a Second Life

The Repair Café promotes:

• Household safety through free PAT testing.
• Cost savings by repairing rather than replacing appliances.
• Environmental responsibility by reducing electrical waste.
• Community skills and resilience through volunteering and peer learning.

Bring your small electrical items along and enjoy free tea and coffee while learning or watching repairs in action. Together, we can extend the life of our appliances, keep our homes safe, and strengthen our community.
