NN Partnership working on the Sutton Park Burglary Initiative Day

On Thursday 16th November – Lucy and Katie from Neighbourhood Network were part of the wider team knocking on doors on Sutton Park in a bid to reduce burglary in the area. The day saw staff from Humberside Police and Hull City Council’s ASB and waste management teams supporting the initiative.

Recently the area has seen a 21% increase in burglary which is having an impact on the local community, especially with many of the residents’ being elderly.

During the day, approximately 250 houses on Newtondale and Airedale were visited in a bid to deter crime from these streets, as they both have been recorded as two of the highest streets for acquisitive crimes such as burglaries and theft of motor vehicles.

Luckily the weather held off and the residents were recipients of crime reduction equipment along with safety and security advice from the team.
