22nd September 2023Stay Out of Abandoned Buildings & Stay Safe!
Message from Humberside Police:
PLEASE tell your children to stay away from dangerous abandoned buildings.
The Humberside Police have had a string of incidents at Ings Lodge on Middlesex Road, which was formerly a care home and remains boarded up to this day.
Over the course of the year, police have been called out to several incidents of trespassing at the care home and even had intruders throw roof tiles down at the ground below.
They’ve increased patrols around Middlesex Road and will act against anyone involved in criminal behaviour such as anti-social behaviour.
A 48-hour direction to leave order will be considered.
Persons issued with a direction to leave order can be arrested if they fail to comply.
The primary purpose of the police is to protect life, so it is of genuine and growing concern to us to see persons risking their life and limb by entering this building.
This abandoned property really is dangerous and we and partner agencies are very concerned about someone coming to serious harm in there.
Those who break into this premises should be aware that they are also potentially committing criminal offences and know that we will prosecute anyone involved in criminality.
“Please don’t risk your health and don’t risk getting a criminal record by going into these places.”
“Stay away and stay safe.”
