Bonfire Night is almost here, and while it’s a time for fun, fireworks, and family gatherings, it’s also important to stay safe. We’re committed to helping everyone enjoy the celebrations responsibly, so please take a moment to read these safety reminders.
Firework Safety Tips
- It’s ILLEGAL to throw or set off any firework (including sparklers and category 1 fireworks) in or into any highway, street, or public space such as parks or fields.
➡️ Offenders can face an unlimited fine and up to 6 months in prison. - Only buy fireworks with a UKCA mark from reputable retailers.
- Store fireworks safely in a closed box, away from heat sources.
- Always follow the instructions on each firework carefully.
- Light fireworks at arm’s length and stand well back.
- Never return to a lit firework even if it looks like it’s gone out.
- Never throw fireworks.
- Protect your pets keep them indoors and comfortable during displays.
