Domestic abuse isn’t just between people in a relationship; ex-partners and other family members might put you at risk. Domestic abuse services are here to support anyone who needs them.
Services want to hear from you and are ready to listen and help and their contact details are below if needed.
If you have spotted signs that someone is at risk of domestic abuse they are ready to help. It could be a friend, family member or neighbour. If you are worried about them, let them know. For advice or concerns, support services are there to help. Domestic abuse isn’t just physical, it can be emotional, sexual or financial. Recognise the signs and reach out for help. If you spot these warning signs of domestic abuse, they should be taken seriously. People who are being abused may:
- Seem afraid or anxious to please their partner
- Go along with everything their partner says and does
- Check in often with their partner to report what they’re doing
- Receive frequent, harassing phone calls
- Talk about their partner’s temper, jealousy, or possessiveness
