29th April 2026Family Nest – Supporting low-cost families

Family Nest, a volunteer-led community organisation supporting low-income families, single parents and individuals facing hardship across Hull and the East Riding.
They began their work at the Maurice Rawling Community Centre in the St Andrew’s & Docklands Ward and are now expanding to reach more residents experiencing poverty, isolation, and barriers to wellbeing, integration and access to essential services, particularly during the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Their mission is to empower people on low incomes through practical assistance, education and community-building initiatives, helping them move from immediate pressures toward long-term stability and independence. Their work is guided by the values of dignity, trust, whole-person support and strengthening neighbourhood connections.
They would warmly welcome opportunities to connect, collaborate or partner with organisations in ways that benefit both theirs and your work and the wider community. This may include referrals, joint activities, shared learning or broader community engagement.
They are also seeking volunteers across Hull and the East Riding who are willing to support vulnerable people as part of the Family Nest team.
