Following a period of growth, Forum are currently looking for the right people to join their Trustee Board and help guide their journey forwards.
Forum provide support and development services to voluntary and community sector organisations, including social enterprises, mainly in West Yorkshire (Calderdale) and North East Lincolnshire, though in practice Forum is a membership organisation and they provide a wide range of advice, guidance and information to all members across Yorkshire and the Humber.
They support the active participation of the voluntary and community sector in strategic decision making and developing the role of the sector in terms of both community engagement and opportunities for future service delivery.
Forum also undertakes a range of consultancy activity, including advice on charity governance, funding, social enterprise development and supporting consortia and partnership delivery.
Being a Trustee of Forum
The Trustee Board meets every six weeks, usually on a weekday afternoon, and meetings last approximately 2 hours. The Trustee Board provides strategic oversight and assurance around the work of the organisation, supported by Forum’s Senior Management Team.
It is expected that trustees each take on an area of responsibility that requires a commitment of approximately two additional hours per month. Full training and induction will be given to successful candidates.
