Forum has acted as the lead partner in the coordination and mapping of voluntary and community sector provision in terms of the wider crisis response to the challenges of COVID 19. Through this work Forum have led on a comprehensive mapping exercise to identify the range of community support services being delivered across the City and established a number of key voluntary and community sector networks to promote a joined up approach and a sharing of learning that will better inform the longer term plans for COVID 19 recovery which are currently being developed by Hull City Council
An Impact Report has now been produced to provide an overview of the contribution the VCS has made to the COVID 19 response in Hull over a two month period (March – May 2020) and to make a series of key recommendations around the contribution the VCS can continue to make as part of the Citywide plans around recovery.
It is based on direct responses from 15 VCS groups and organisations involved in frontline delivery of COVID 19 support services and from information gained through regular online support calls with VCS organisations. We recognise that this only provides a snapshot of what has been achieved and that a large number of smaller, community-based organisations have not been captured within this initial report, so it is likely that the estimated numbers referenced in this report are higher.
Forum have now submitted this report on behalf of the sector to Hull City Council and NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group in order to begin discussions around additional support to sector groups and organisations through the recovery period and to begin planning around future support in the long-term.
