24th January 2020Hull: Could you spare some time to support Dove House Hospice?
24th January 2020Hull: Volunteer roles for sighted guides
This week Neighbourhood Network were visited by Alan from My Guide of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
They would like to share with you the opportunity to make a huge difference to a the life of a visually impaired person. They are seeking sighted guide volunteers to become a My Guide partner.
This could involve doing anything from browsing the shops, visiting the gym, going to the cinema or generally just getting out of the house. This fulfilling volunteer role would suit someone who likes to be out and about and can spare 2-3 hours a week.
Full training and support will be given. Volunteers must be over 18 and will require a DBS check.
For further information on how you can help a person living with sight loss get more out of life then contact Alan Precious, Volunteer Manager on 0345 1430207 or alan.precious@guidedogs.org.uk for more details.
