We provide a range of services with and beyond the dog to help thousands of people with different needs lead confident, independent and fulfilling lives.

My Guide Volunteers  ( Hull area )

Clients are blind or partially sighted so getting out alone can often be a scary challenging experience for them. The Sighted Guide can support them through helping them get familiar with their surroundings. This role is to provide sighted guide assistance on a regular basis to people living with sight loss to help them go to the local shops, go out for a coffee, a walk or anything else the client feels they need support with. The can also involve supporting Guide Dog Owners with free running their Guide Dog. This role is to increase independence, dignity and wellbeing of people living with sight loss.

Are you ….

• A People person
• Good communication skills
• Non- judgemental
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times
• Willing to undertake training required for the role

They are looking for enthusiastic people in a variety of locations who are interested in supporting their many fundraising events and activities throughout the year, including:

• Street collections on ‘flag’ days
• Help on stalls at local events
• Take Collection Boxes to local businesses
• Attending local events organised by Branches or Community Fundraiser and keeping track of what they sell on their stalls (including the cuddly toys!)
• Count donations

All they ask of you is a positive attitude, your commitment to their ethos and some of your time. Have fun, meet new people and learn more about the organisation, whilst at the same time raising money that will help transform the lives of people living with sight loss.
