25th April 2019Are you up for a Walking Challenge?
26th April 2019Hull: Environmental Management Solutions – Volunteers needed.

Volunteers Required!
Looking to help in your local community but don’t know what you want to do? How about lending a hand to help a very busy community shop?
The shop is based on the office and offers residents a range of (fresh, chilled and ambient) affordable food that they can pay for with a donation. The stock for the HCS comes from produce that is collected as surplus from a number of local supermarkets along with contributions from the community.
The most important role for volunteers is to be friendly to residents visiting the shop, and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who comes into to buy produce.
Day to day tasks in the shop include: collecting any donated produce and storing it correctly, unpacking and receiving stock deliveries, helping resdients, stacking shelves and checking stock. Everyone will have to help with cleaning as well – it’s not all glamorous!
The HCS is open Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm and Fridays 10am to 3pm, with the busiest time being between 10am to 12pm.
All volunteers will have access to food that is available on the green shelves free of charge.
The shop is based on Preston Road Village Centre in East Hull.
