11th November 2019Hull: Fourteen arrests and six people charged this week by Humberside Police Proactive Team

The work carried out by our north bank Proactive Team this week has so far resulted in a total of fourteen people being arrested in Hull with six of them being charged for various offences.
On Wednesday officers made ten arrests and charged three people. Read more about that below:

On Thursday a further four people also ‘had their collars felt’ in the city and were taken into custody. Three people were charged that day. Here’s a run-down of what happened on 7 November:
– Two men were arrested on Washington Street on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug. A suspect was seen approaching a group of known drug users, detained and two wraps of crack cocaine was found on him. He was arrested.
– This led to a property on the same street where a search was made under section 32 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Eleven wraps of suspected heroin was seized as well as nearly £2,000 in cash. A man from the Blackpool area was arrested. Both suspects have been released under investigation.
– A woman and man were arrested on Colonial Street on suspicion of theft. They were identified by members of the public and were arrested by our officers who were nearby. Hayley Shaw, 36, from Ashburn Grove was charged with the theft of perfume and make-up. The man was released with no further action taken.
– A search under section 17 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act was carried out at an address on Limerick Close. No-one was home, but officers spotted and arrested a man they were looking for walking along Waveney Road. Adam Edgar, 34, of Mallard Road in Hull was charged with witness intimidation.
– Another man, Gerhard Reid, 57, from Greenwich Avenue in Hull who was arrested on Wednesday 6 November, has also been charged with witness intimidation and two counts of perverting the course of justice.
– Two men in a car who were arrested on Ellerby Grove on Wednesday were wanted on prison recall and have been sent back to jail.
