Charge brought following Newland Ave burglary

A 27-year-old man is due in court after he was charged in connection with a burglary at a shop on Newland Avenue on Monday 17 February.

Mateusz Wasik of Cave Street, Hull was charged with burglary and was remanded in custody overnight. He is due at Hull Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

Police were called shortly before 2.30am on Monday 17 February, with a report of a man behaving suspiciously on Edgecumbe Street.

A few minutes later police received a second call reporting a break in at a shop on Newland Avenue.

Officers attended and a man was arrested nearby.
