A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failure to stop, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving under the influence of drugs following a fail to stop on Westbourne Avenue, Hull on the night of Sunday 6 September.
A car was reported to be driving over the speed limit on Chanterlands Avenue at approximately 10.45pm on the evening, with its speed reaching 80mph on Westbourne Avenue. It was also reported to be driving dangerously including driving at speed on the wrong side of the road.
The car was found abandoned close by a short time after with occupants running towards Cottingham Road. Following a successful ‘sniff out’ by the police dogs, one man was arrested.
The man has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
