Description
Grants are available for local third sector organisations and community groups in the areas served by Northern Gas Networks and Northern Powergrid for projects that benefit those who are ‘hard to reach’ or vulnerable.

Minimum Value: £ 1,000
Value Notes
Grants between £1,000 and £10,000 are available. Priority will be given to requests for less than £5,000.
Northern Gas Networks and Northern Powergrid are offering to support applicants in non-financial ways with training, information materials and networking opportunities related directly to carbon monoxide, energy efficiency, Priority Services Register, STEM subjects or fuel poverty.
Extended Description
The Community Partnering Fund is provided by Northern Gas Networks and Northern Powergrid and administered on their behalf by Leeds Community Foundation.
The Fund is intended to support local community groups to deliver sustainable initiatives to educate and support their communities, providing long-term solutions to current problems. The majority of beneficiaries need to be located in the specified areas of Yorkshire and the Humber and North East England. (A full list of the locations can be found in the guidelines.)

The deadline for applications is 2 November 2020 (noon).
Key Criteria
Eligible organisations should:
- Be a volunteer-led group, a registered charity or a not-for-profit organisation with charitable aims.
- Have a management committee, board of trustees or board of directors with at least three unrelated people who are not living at the same address and do not form a majority.
- Have a separate bank account under the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories or have a charitable partner organisation willing to bank any grant awarded for the group.
- Have an annual turnover below £300,000.
Priority will be given to projects:
- Run by local people, for local people. Groups must be able to demonstrate good local links.
- That show a strong understanding of the needs of the community that will benefit.
- That have a direct impact on the community and local needs.
- That are not one-off events and could become sustainable in the longer term.
- That focus on supporting those who are vulnerable and/or face barriers to other services.
- That have not previously applied, unless the application is for a significantly different activity.
- That encourage interest in STEM as this is a particularly key focus for the Fund.
Northern Gas Networks and Northern Powergrid wish to foster ongoing relationships with organisations, explore further opportunities to provide support, gather case studies and share learning.
