Hull: Precautionary road closures in place

A cordon is in place following the discovery of what is suspected to be an unexploded World War Two mortar in a house in Hull.

At this stage, it is not known if the mortar is live and colleagues from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have been called to assess the situation.

The area around the property in Albert Avenue has been closed off as a precaution and the road is also closed between the junctions of Lowther Street and Anlaby Road.

We ask that you avoid the area until we are able to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
