Perimenopause and Menopause directly affects half of the population. Families, friends, work and relationships are all impacted. Awareness is growing thanks to media support over recent years but there is still a huge gap in support, information and advice. Medical support is severely overstretched, and this adds to the frustrations of those experiencing symptoms.
Menopaus’ull Support Network is uniquely positioned to bridge this gap, offering holistic, community-based support. Menopaus’ull is building a strong local network that empowers beneficiaries while also raising awareness of the signs and symptoms across Hull, the East Riding, and beyond.
Our vision is clear: to help make Hull and the East Riding home to the happiest menopausal community. Menopaus’ull supports, informs, and educates employers so that more women can remain in the workplace. It amplifies the voices of experts by experience—those who truly understand the journey—and challenges healthcare providers by evidencing gaps in care and advocating for better support in our region.
Menopaus’ull Support Network continues to thrive, reflected in growing participation, rising referrals, and increasing recognition by medical and public sector services. This rising demand highlights the crucial need for our work.
Through a range of activities and resources—Menopaus’ull Support Network have hosted menopause cafés, walk and talk sessions, activity workshops such as crafts, breath work and runs a menopause and wellbeing book loan library, creates numerous blog posts on menopause symptoms—the project creates safe spaces to share experiences, learn and feel connected. The network also provides practical health support and has held health MOT sessions for women in the area and delivers tailored information through monthly newsletters. The project has a private Facebook group of nearly 1,000 members, along with an online shop offering helpful items. Menopaus’ull raises wider awareness and challenges stigma by organising events like the Menopause Hull event in partnership with MP Emma Hardy, hosting workshops and presentations, and collaborating with local VCSE organisations such as Endo Buddies, Her Breast Friends to name a few. Altogether, these activities help thousands of women feel informed, empowered, and less alone during the menopause transition.
In total, over 2,000 women engaged with Menopaus’ull on an annually basis—through direct participation or by accessing our online resources—showcasing the profound impact of our work on women’s lives during menopause.

“You’re not going mad – you are not alone. I’ve just had a glorious afternoon with like-minded ladies, all sharing their menopause experiences at a poetry workshop. What it’s given me is inspiration, empowerment, and the strength to move forward. Carry on what you are doing, Menopaus’ull – it’s marvellous.”
