10th February 2023Hull: Man in custody following incident on Linnaeus Street

A man has been arrested following an incident near Anlaby Road, Hull on Monday 6 February.
It was reported that a man had been stabbed on Linnaeus Street, Hull at around 9.15pm following what was believed to be an altercation between two men in the street.
A man passing by is reported to have attempted to help the injured man and was also reportedly stabbed.
The suspect is thought to have fled the scene and the two men were taken to hospital to receive treatment for what are thought to be serious injuries.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Andy Crawforth said: “Our investigation is ongoing and officers continue to conduct lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Locals to the area can expect a high presence of officers in the area providing reassurance to residents whilst enquiries continue, but also to speak to anyone who may have any concerns or helpful information.
“A cordon was in place whilst we carried out lines of enquiry, I’d like to confirm this has now been removed.
“We would like to thank members of the public who have already assisted with our investigation and would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around this time, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us on 101, quoting log 569/562 of 6 February”.
