16th May 2023Are you ready for Neighbourhood Watch Week 2023

Neighbourhood Watch Week kickstarts the Month of Community, and this is our chance to shout about the great work we do in crime prevention and community wellbeing. This year our goal is to encourage more members and volunteers to join us locally. We also want to celebrate our amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to unite neighbours and actively promote crime prevention with the National Neighbourhood Watch Volunteer Recognition Awards.
To help you prepare for the Week, have a look at the slides from their May workshop on making the Neighbourhood Watch Week a success. The theme this year is MAKING THIS A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE and focuses on:
- getting active in your area
- inviting more people to join your scheme and
- celebrating our volunteers by nominating a Coordinator for a Volunteer Recognition Award – nominations open on the 3rd of June
Some things you can do:
- Be more visible in your area and put up new Neighbourhood Watch signs on your road, add your scheme to our website postcode search, or run a local event (such as a coffee morning)
- In conversations with neighbours let them know who we are and what we do
- Nominate a Coordinator or other Neighbourhood Watch volunteer for a Volunteer Recognition Award
- Share our social media posts across your networks
If you are interested in creating a Neighbourhood Watch in your area please contact your local support Neighbourhood Network on 01482 82061 or email office@nnetwork.org.uk and the team will be more than happy to support you.
