After the success of the teams previous session, the Neighbourhood Network have now scheduled another Cancer Champion Awareness Workshop.
Presented by Emma Lewin from the Cancer Champion team at Humber, Coast and Vale Cancer Alliance, the session aims to save lives by promoting healthy lifestyle choices and encourage early detection of cancer.
The free 90-minute online awareness session teaches people about the key facts, statistics, symptoms, and screenings which are linked to several cancers.
The session will take place on World Health Day on Wednesday 7th April at 10.30am.
Statistics state that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in a lifetime, due to Covid-19 the NHS has also seen a reduction in cancer referrals.
Early diagnosis is vital and can save lives, the Neighbourhood Network team wants to help raise awareness and bring the signs and symptoms to the forefront of everyone’s minds.
If you want to better understand and learn about the different signs and symptoms of cancer, then join the team for a friendly and informal chat to become more cancer aware.
