- NHW Natter: Let’s talk all things NHW
Monday 7th June @ 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Neighbourhood Watch is the largest crime prevention voluntary movement in England and Wales and has upwards of 2.3 million members. Its success is built on the power of neighbours working together to build safer, vibrant and inclusive communities. It helps prevent crime and makes a positive, sustainable difference in communities.
Let’s celebrate all things NHW by coming together and informally discussing great local examples and sharing ideas. This session is aimed at NHW coordinators and group members or for those interested in joining the NHW movement.
Register your place and then grab yourself a cuppa and let’s have a great evening!
To book your place please email us at office@nnetwork.org.uk or call 01482 826061.

- Cybercrime and NHW
Tuesday 8th June @ 1.30pm – 2.30pm
Protecting yourself and those in your communities from becoming victims of cybercrime and fraud has never been more important, with more than £13.8 million stolen from 7471 victims between 2019-2020 in the Humber area alone.
In partnership with ERVAS and delivered by Devan Witter join this session to hear how criminals manipulate people to obtain confidential information, hear real life local stories from those effected by fraud and learn ways to protect yourself that you can share with others.
There will be a Q&A at the end of the session.

- Child Exploitation: Know the signs
Thursday 10th June @ 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Sexual exploitation is a form of abuse where young people are forced or manipulated into sexual activity. The abuser may groom the young person into trusting them – this can be done face-to-face or online. The abuser then exploits this trust for their own gain. Child sexual exploitation can take many forms and victims and criminals can be from any social or ethnic background.
Delivered by Lisa Finch from Hull City Council’s Vulnerable, Exploited, Missing and Trafficked Team this NEW Keep Connected aims to educate the public on spotting and reporting the signs of child exploitation.
The workshop will include subjects such as:
- Child Exploitation awareness including County Lines
- Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking
- Contextual Safeguarding
To book your place on this NEW Keep Connected session please email us at office@nnetwork.org.uk or call 01482 826061.

- Organised Crime and the part we can play
Friday 11th June at 11am – 12pm
Organised crime is not just on TV, its real and it’s in our communities. With links to drug dealing, the exploitation of children and vulnerable adults, organised robberies and break-ins, as well as violent attacks on rival gang members, there’s little wonder that members of Organised Crime Groups (OCG’s) are among the primary targets for Humberside Police.
Building up a picture of these complex networks to identify and target those in charge is no easy feat, but we can all play our part.
Delivered by Humberside Police’s Regional County Lines Lead Detective Inspector Mark Catney, this session will discuss the impacts and effects that Organised Crime Gangs have on our communities and how we can spot the signs, report and help tackle the problem.
To book your place on this NEW Keep Connected session please email us at office@nnetwork.org.uk or call 01482 826061.
On Friday 11th June, starting at 1pm, we will be organising a Litter Pick around the Bespoke Centre on Bransholme. If you would like to get involved, why not join us, we will provide all the equipment. It would be great to see some of our members!
What better way to celebrate national Neighbourhood Watch Week by showcasing Neighbourhood Watch groups in Hull and the work and impact they are having on their communities. We will feature a different group everyday on our social media channels, informing you of the work they are doing and what a difference it is making to their community!
And lastly, we will be showcasing national Neighbourhood Watch Network’s activities on our social media channels, encouraging people to get involved and be part of this amazing growing community which is striving to make the areas we live and work in a safer, connected and more resilient environment!
