On Monday 10th October, the Neighbourhood Network team were pleased to welcome Humberside Police’s Community Cohesion Officer PC Manny Gul, to contribute the popular online Keep Connected series. In recognition of Hate Crime Awareness week, PC Gul spoke to attendees about differences between hate crime and hate incidents. He also shared the contact details of the other Cohension Officers across the Humberside Police Force.
Attention was given to the Humberside Police website and reporting from this site, where people can use the drop down to report crimes in their own language if they wish – Hate crime/hate incidents | Humberside Police
PC Gul also highlighted the third-party reporting centres and their various locations from Hull University to the Warren Youth Project – Hullv2.docx (live.com) The staff at these centre’s are trained to help residents reporting these incidents.
Attendee feedback from the webinar was very positive, with the majority saying their knowledge of hate crime had increased significantly from attending the webinar.
