Violence Against Women & Girls North Lincs Conference

The NN team attended North Lincolnshire Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) conference on Wednesday 15th March.

The event had a fantastic array of speakers, highlighting lived experiences and current work which is taking place across the Humber region to tackle this extremely important issue.

Speakers included:

• Humberside Police & Crime Commissioner – Jonathan Evison – introducing the VAWG Agenda

• Founder of Victim Focus – Dr Jessica Taylor – Presenting the findings from the recent ‘Understanding VAWG in the Humber Area’ report

• Humberside Police Superintendent Paul French – Proactively and ways to report

• Chair of VAWG IAG (NL & NEL) Sarah Gorman – Highlighting the function and purpose of IAG VAWG

• Hollie Guard Services Adam Constable – Introduction to the Hollie Guard App

• Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne – ‘Why we must take stalking seriously’

• Head of Community Resilience North Lincs Council Stuart Minto – What we are asking for and ‘Reclaim the night’

We can all take an active role in understanding and tackling violence against women and girls.
