2nd July 202151 arrested following another busy intensification week for #OpGalaxy
Update from Humberside Police:
Throughout the course of the week, the #OpGalaxy team have been kept busy across our region with a total of 51 people arrested for various offences including grievous bodily harm, harassment, drugs related offences and burglary.
Since the start of the operation, the team have successfully reprimanded a total of 109 criminals as a part of their ongoing proactive work this month.
As a part of this week’s intensification the team, working in partnership with our Regional and Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) have been at the forefront of removing what are believed to be class A drugs from our streets. Following a warrant on Wimborne Avenue yesterday (Thursday 1 July) a quantity of cash and jewellery were also recovered from the address.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Earlier this week, on Monday 28 June, officers executed a warrant at a property on East Common Lane, Scunthorpe. Upon entering the property, electricity had been extracted and a cannabis grow worth an estimated £30,000 was found.
Officers are continuing with their enquiries to identify those involved.
Two men, aged 27 and 33 were arrested on suspicion of burglary this week. The men had travelled from Sheffield to commit crime in our local communities. Thanks to proactive cross boarder working from #OpGalaxy we continue to make the lives of those attempting to commit criminality in our area difficult.
As we head into the weekend, working in partnership with neighbourhoods policing team #OpGalaxy will continue to carryout proactive work across our region in bid to continue to deter and tackle criminal associated with night time economy as life slowly returns to normal and covid restrictions are slowly eased.
We would continue to encourage anyone with information about crime in their area to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 alternatively you can provide information to the charity Crimestoppers completely anonymously on 0800 555111, or on their website.
