he Refugee Council works in the UK with asylum seekers and refugees. Our operational teams based in various locations in England provide advice and assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping asylum seekers.
The New Roots Project
The Refugee Council in partnership with RETAS (Refugee Employment and Training Advice Service), HCAS (Humber Community Advice Services), Path Yorkshire and the Goodwin Trust have agreed funding through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) to roll out a model of integration for recently recognised refugees who have status based in London, Leeds and Hull.
The project engages with refugees with multiple and complex needs, providing a range of holistic, intensive and enhanced support activities, adding significant value to the limited refugee integration provision in each area and improving integration outcomes.
Purpose of the job
- You will be responsible for working directly with a caseload of refugee clients seeking to progress towards training, education, volunteering and employment.
- You will work closely with refugees to identify their skills, experience and aspirations and seeking to address barriers to progression.
- You will support individuals to progress through a jointly agreed action plan with identified steps to achieve their chosen employment objective.
- You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as successful completion of training courses, voluntary and work placements and paid employment.
