This year as part of the White Ribbon activities in the city and to commemorate 25th November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women a challenge has been set!
White Ribbon UK have developed a ‘Champions’ programme which aims to recruit women to join the campaign to raise awareness and challenge male violence towards women and girls.
“White Ribbon champions encourage men and boys to participate in the global White Ribbon movement. By encouraging individuals, organisations, networks and communities to say ‘NO’ to violence against women and girls, Champions inspire change and drive the campaign forward”.
So, the challenge is on for Hull to have 113* ‘Champions’ by the end of this year’s 16 days of action, starting 25th November and concluding on 10th December 2018.
* 113 women killed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2017.
