5th April 2023Hull: Can you help police solve an attempted robbery?
Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was arrested following a robbery in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 2 April.
Officers were called to reports that a man approached two people in a vehicle in a retail car park on Holderness Road at around 2.05am and is believed to have attempted to open the car door whilst carrying a knife. The man is then thought to have fled the scene.
In a separate incident shortly afterwards, it is reported that a man approached a woman at a cash machine on Holderness Road and demanded money from her whilst carrying a knife.
Thankfully the victims were not harmed but were understandably shaken by the incident.
Officers quickly attended and a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, robbery, and possession of a bladed weapon. He has since been released on police bail whilst police continue with their enquiries.
They would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around this time, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them on 101, quoting log 57 of 2 April.
Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can report information via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
