Hull: Paul for Brain Recovery seek trustees

PAUL for Brain Recovery is a charity based in Hull, which exists to make life easier after brain injury by providing advice and support to empower all affected. The charity also campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of brain injury.

They are seeking to strengthen their Trustee Board and would like to hear from anyone with a genuine interest in and passion for helping people that have been affected by brain injury.

In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, the skill and experience they are looking for include:

  • Experience of working and achieving at senior or board level in a small/medium sized organisation, with a good understanding of the main components including planning, budgeting, contract management, assurance, control and performance management of its activities.
  • Experience in a healthcare/clinical setting, preferably specific to brain injury is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Trustee of a charity is desirable.
  • An understanding of brain injury and its effects would be beneficial.

Time Commitment

The Trustee Board currently meets once a month in an evening at their centre in Hull.  Meetings usually run for 2-3 hours. Trustees are required to attend meetings regularly and attendance at various events throughout the year is also required. Trustees are unremunerated; however reasonable travel expenses can be claimed.
