Hull’s Pride event will be taking place on Saturday 30th July.
On Saturday (30 July), festivities will start with a parade running from Hull College to Queens Gardens, between 10am and 12noon, followed by a day packed with music and celebrations.
The parade route will run from Wilberforce Drive outside Hull College, to Lowgate, Alfred Gelder Street, Queen’s Dock Avenue, Vernon Street, Bond Street, George Street and back onto Wilberforce Drive, into Queens Gardens.
All parade entrants must pre-register before 12noon on Friday 29 July here. The Parade has an important message and will focus on those countries where it is illegal to be LGBT+ and the community tribes.
Pride in Hull main stage set times for the free daytime event:
- 12noon – 2pm
All For One Choir, DJ Mike Tolan, Lloyd Daniels, Baby Drag, Abba, Samantha Atkin and David Danville Dance.
- 2 – 3.50pm
The Pride flag will be rolled out across the crowd, followed by State of the Art, Cher Tribute, Queenz and Liberty X.
- 3.50 – 5pm
Ongina, one of the original nine contestants for the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race (also known as The Lost Season), as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars Season.
- Mel Blatt, from the girl group All Saints, will be doing a DJ set to close the main event.
Throughout the day, the festival will include a family area, with international house sax player, Dustin Kitsch and Jeddy Bear and Gary. A Tent of Imagination will showcase music from Callum Chater, Ellie Pollard, Jodie Langford and Scott and there will be dance with the amazing Tamar & Jo. Spoken word will come from Michelle Dee and Emily Oetegenn and Hull Roundheads’ Play followed by confessional open mic which is open to all.
From 5pm, those without a ticket will be asked to purchase one or can leave the park ready for the next event.
