A 17-year-old youth responsible for a string of motorbike related crimes across the Orchard Park area of Hull and other parts of the city has today been sent to a Youth Offenders Institution for a year.
Because of legal reasons and his age, this youth cannot be identified however he was caught thanks to the hard work of officers working as part Operation Yellowfin who brought him before the court.
The teenager received consecutive sentences of 6 months for theft offences and another 6 months for driving offences which will run back-to-back.
He also received a further 6 month sentence for burglary offences which will run alongside.
That means he has been sent down for 12 months in total.
PC Steph Makey said: “This is a great result which has been achieved by the hard work of officers and all those involved in Operation Yellowfin.
“We’ve got this lad off the streets who was causing a lot of problems for people not only in Orchard Park and the surrounding area but across the city.
“This included being involved in numerous incidents of antisocial behaviour as well as the crimes he’s been sentenced for.
“He’s now been sent to somewhere where he can’t cause any further problems for residents living in across our city.”
