35 hours per week – Salary £23,584 per annum

Cornerhouse and The Warren are looking to recruit 2 full time Street based outreach coordinators to co-ordinate an exciting new project working with young people throughout Hull.

The main purpose of the job will be to coordinate and manage a team of staff and volunteers in delivering street based outreach work to young people in Hull.

The post holder will be required to ensure the project provides a safe, inclusive and positive environment and take a lead role in constantly evaluating and improving the offer to young people.

The post holder will liaise with Targeted Youth services and early intervention services including Humberside Police, ASB Teams, MACE to share information and to help target provision to areas it is required.

The role will include acting as a key worker to young people identified as being in need of additional support.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The post holder will work as part of a team in order to make contact with young people engaged in activity that increases their vulnerability particularly those young people who are not currently accessing mainstream service interventions.
  • The post holder will liaise with other services and coordinate a response to intelligence relating to risk taking behaviour and disorder by working in areas recognised as ‘hot spots’ for risk taking behaviour.
  • To support staff to assess each young person to identify needs in terms of their drug use, risk behaviours, mental health, their potential to engage with education, employment and training and their personal, social and educational development.
  • To set individual goals and action plans and deliver interventions and programmes to support young people to build resilience, address their risk behaviours and access education, training and employment, personal and social development opportunities, and positive activities identified.
