Celebrating 10 years at Neighbourhood Network
12th December 2025Randal Foundation Fund – Hull
Background
The Randal Charitable Foundation is collaborating with Two Ridings Community Foundation to provide this scheme.
Objectives of Fund
The scheme awards small grants to grass-roots organisations for projects based in Hull that address one of the following priorities:
- Alleviating poverty.
- Tackling mental ill-health.
- Education for the most disadvantaged.
Value Notes
Grants of up to £3,000 are available to be spent over 12 months.
There is a total funding pot of £30,000 and the funders anticipate awarding 10 to 12 grants.
Take a look at the funding application here (this will take you to the Two Ridings website)
Match Funding Restriction
Grants can fund 100% of the activity costs or can be part of a combination of funding to meet the full amount needed; however it is unlikely that priority will be given to projects where the grant award would represent less than 20% of the total project cost. If applying for a percentage of the total costs, groups must communicate what other funding has been secured or how they will secure the remaining funds.
Who Can Apply
Applications are accepted from small grassroots organisations with charitable aims where a small amount of money can make a significant difference.
To be eligible, groups must:
- Be either a small voluntary organisation, community group, small charity or other type of not-for-profit organisation provided that the purpose of the grant is wholly charitable.
- Be based in Hull and/or delivering activities or services in Hull.
- Have a governing document (also known as a constitution, rules, memorandum, or articles of association) in the name of the organisation outlining charitable objectives and with a charitable dissolution clause.
- Have a bank account in the group/organisation’s name with at least two signatories who are not related to one another.
- Have an annual income of under £50,000 per annum.
Eligible Expenditure
Applications can be for direct activity/project costs and pilot projects.
The funders are also particularly interested in applications where people who are experts by experience of the issues being addressed are involved with the design of the project and/or the running of the organisation/delivering the project.
