A reminder this Candle Fire Safety Week, if you’re planning candle lit bonfire night decorations or creating a festive glow.

• Never leave candles unattended always put them out when you leave the room and before you go to bed.
• Keep lit candles away from curtains, bedding, and other flammable objects.
• Place candles out of the reach of children and pets.
• Don’t place candles directly on to furniture or around the bath, always place them in a suitable holder.
• Have a smoke alarm fitted on every level of your home and test they work regularly.
• Consider flame-free alternatives such as LEDs.
