2nd September 2024Tell someone – Humberside Police
The Police are encouraging victims of rape or serious sexual offences to tell someone!
“Imagine maggots under your skin eating away slowly at your flesh every day.” – that’s what it can feel like for somebody who has been sexually abused.
This September, one brave survivor has agreed to waive her legal right to anonymity and tell her story on camera to encourage other victims of sexual abuse to tell someone.
When Jamie was ten years old, she was sexually abused by someone she trusted. Last year, her abuser was sentenced to 24 years in prison for nine counts of sexual assault.
Her story is one of trauma, hope and healing and she is ready to share it with the world.
Hear Jamie’s story.
