17th November 2023Tackling burglary, theft and robbery: how we’re working to catch offenders

As part of #OpShield phase two, Humberside Police teams are working hard to tackle repeat offenders and outstanding suspects of burglary, theft and robbery.
Crimes like this can have a long-lasting impact on its victims, which is why the teams are prioritising catching those involved in such crimes.
From teams dedicated to identifying suspects to officers regularly carrying out arrest attempts, the force has seen 61 arrested with a total of 35 charged.
Detective Chief Inspector, Allison Sweeting said: “As part of our commitment to keeping our communities safe and protecting the public, phase two of Operation Shield has seen us cracking down on these particular crimes.
“As we work to identify repeat offenders and catch any outstanding suspects, we are making sure we have the evidence we need to get the charges which will allow us to remove the risk that these people pose from our streets.
“Our team is working around the clock to do as much as they can to get offenders into custody, especially those who are a higher risk of causing harm to our communities.
“I would urge anyone who may have any information about related offences, or concerns about people who may be involved, to please get in touch by contacting us on our non-emergency number, 101.
“The intel we receive from our communities helps us to target these criminals and make sure they cannot harm our communities any further.”
