Could you be the person that CHCP are looking for?
They are looking to find, friendly, positive volunteers to befriend the carers that they work with. The caring role can be isolating for some people. As a befriender, you will be playing a valuable role in providing companionship for an isolated carer, by talking to them about their interests or hobbies and checking in on their general wellbeing.
In Return you will receive:
•Training to support you in your role.
•An ID badge, and uniform where needed
•Regular contact and support from your mentor, and ongoing support from the CHCP volunteer hub
•Membership to the CHCP Volunteers mailing list to receive regular updates and invitations to events
•A minimum of two mandatory meetings with your mentor a year
•Understanding of the need to balance volunteering with personal life/health or accessibility requirements
•Personal development and work experience as part of a team
•The opportunity to enhance your volunteering background and CV
•Financial reimbursement for out of pocket expenses (where agreed by the hub)
Please contact the CHCP volunteer Hub on 01482 222220 or alternatively email email@example.com for more information.
