16.03.21 – Keeping safe from Fraud

Join the Neighbourhood Network team on Tuesday 16^th March at 11am along with Amanda Smith from NatWest for a presentation on how you can keep yourself safe from Fraud.  

Amanda will be delivering a 45-minute presentation with real examples of how people have fallen foul of this cruel crime and more importantly how you can protect yourself and others! 

Amanda will talk about how banks are helping towards tackling this type of crime and the session will feature a question-and-answer section.

The session is based around the Friends Against Scams programme, which is a National Trading Standards Scams Team Initiative, which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering people to take a stand against scams.

• Scams cost the UK economy £5-10 Billion per year.
• 53% of people over 65 have been targeted by scams.
• Only 5% of scams are reported.
• Our statistics indicate that the average scam victim has lost over £3000.
