Message from Humberside Police:
Are you ready to take on a challenge?
We are excited to announce that registration for Lifestyle 2023 is now open!
Lifestyle is one of our youth engagement projects where we ask young people aged 10-18 to register in teams and spend their summer holidays completing a project to benefit their community.
For 34 years, tens of thousands of young people have registered for Lifestyle and taken on challenges that have made a huge difference to their local communities during the summer holidays.
In recognition of their work, we have been proud to offer a wide range of fantastic prizes over the years for the most innovative and successful projects undertaken. These include: a trip to London, UK adventure holidays, days out at Flamingo Land and many more.
Sergeant Nick Bunker said, “Lifestyle is a really important initiative which has seen some incredible results over the years.
“Lifestyle gives youngsters the chance to showcase the difference they can make in their local communities, whilst building key skills such as team work, problem solving and communication and presentation skills.
“Every year young people get together in groups and take on a challenge to help improve their community in some way.
“Over the years we have seen some incredibly innovative and inspiring activities. Teams have worked incredibly hard to make improvements to their local area, supported members in their community and raised money for causes important to them.
“This includes setting up a mobile library to raise awareness about mental health, working with charities to promote organ donations, providing education about road safety, using recycled plastic to make a buddy bench for a local school and raising money for a defibrillator at a local playing field.
“Our Lifestylers were certainly busy and I really enjoyed hearing about all their creative ideas for each project. I hope this year proves equally popular and I look forward to seeing what this year’s Lifestylers get up to this summer.
“I would like to thank all those who help make Lifestyle possible and wish all participants the very best of luck.”
Aged 10-18 and fancy making a difference in your community and potentially winning a fantastic prize? Then look out for our PCSOs who will be visiting schools and colleges to promote Lifestyle 2023.
