8th March 2024FraudWatch project launches BSL signed video and podcast in the battle against fraud:

Community Vision CIO, working in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council has now launched a new BSL (British Sign Language) signed video and podcast in the battle against fraud.
Residents with hearing and sight impairments across the Humberside Police Force area will directly benefit from this new project, in association with Hull and East Yorkshire Centre for the Deaf.
It is hoped that the podcast and video will increase feelings of safety and confidence in recognising and reporting crime.
The podcast was recorded by Great Yorkshire Radio.
The video is available here.
The podcast can be found here.
FraudWatch is a volunteer organisation managed and lead by Community Vision CIO, and funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner, and was launched back in October. It has been developed within the Force Control Room alongside the Economic Crime Unit, established to provide a wider understanding to the community about Fraud and Cybercrime.
Although the BSL video and podcast is funded through the East Riding Community Safety Partnership using funds from the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioners Office, these resources are available to all across the Humberside Police Force area.
